Job summary

The role involves assisting with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgeries, and nursing care while maintaining patient records and client education. Schedule features weekday hours with no weekends.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred, but experienced Veterinary Assistants will be considered.
• Hands-on veterinary clinical experience required.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring skills, particularly for LVT candidates.
• Surgery and dental experience preferred.
• Strong patient handling and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare patients and equipment for surgery.
• Monitor anesthesia and support surgical recovery.
• Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Assist with dental procedures and patient monitoring.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Safely restrain patients using Fear Free techniques.
• Provide nursing care and monitor hospitalized patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate clients on patient care.
• Support hospital workflow and collaborate with teammates.
• Mentor less-experienced team members as needed.
