Job summary

Northside Animal Hospital is seeking a Lead Veterinary Technician to oversee and mentor a team of veterinary assistants and technicians. You will work closely with veterinarians to implement protocols, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to daily clinic operations.

This leadership role focuses on teaching, process development, and expanding the clinic’s services while maintaining high standards of care in a busy, AAHA-accredited practice.

Qualifications

• Active veterinary technician license (LVT/RVT/CVT) required.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong skills in anesthesia, radiology, soft tissue surgery, lab work, dental care, and ultrasound.
• Experience in a high-volume, multi-doctor practice is a plus.
• Calm, professional, and solution-oriented under stress.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; conflict resolution能力.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the technician/assistant team; foster collaboration and professionalism.
• Conduct check-ins with technicians and act as a bridge to management.
• Manage technician/assistant scheduling.
• Assist veterinarians with wellness exams, surgeries, urgent care, and diagnostics.
• Develop and refine clinic protocols to improve patient care and efficiency.
• Perform anesthesia monitoring, radiology, venipuncture, dental cleanings, and ultrasound.
• Oversee patient care during hospitalization and maintain client communication.
• Mentor staff and promote continuous learning and growth.
• Identify and resolve operational or technical challenges to improve clinic performance.
