Job summary

Farmington Veterinary Hospital in New York seeks a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and client service. You will assist veterinarians with exams, anesthesia, and surgeries, perform lab work and radiographs, and ensure accurate medical records while communicating care instructions to clients.

Ideal candidates are NY-licensed LVTS with compassion for animals, strong teamwork, and commitment to high-quality veterinary care in a supportive practice that values

Qualifications

• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $23 - $25 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule: Flexible scheduling with four 10-hour shifts per week (4x10s). Shifts may start as early as 7:30 AM and end as late as 8:00 PM. Rotating Saturdays are required.
