Job summary

Ark Veterinary Hospital and Urgent Care is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and excellent service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York State required.
• Experience in animal care and client communication preferred.
• Familiarity with veterinary procedures and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates.
• Perform lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. $2,500 Sign-on Bonus!

Schedule: This is a full-time position. Monday - Friday, rotating weekends and some closing shifts. Option to work three long shifts and one short shift to reach 40 hours, allowing for three days off each week.

Qualifications:

• Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician in New York State.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
