Job description

Firgrove Veterinary Clinic, a full-service veterinary medical and surgical facility, is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA accredited team. Interest in surgical cases and dentistry is a huge plus!

The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and the skills necessary to provide high-quality support in a veterinary setting. They should be self-motivated, a quick thinker, able to multi-task efficiently, and have excellent communication skills.

As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and providing exceptional care to both animals and their owners. Once they have proven their skills, licensed technician applicants can expect to utilize their skills in all areas of the hospital.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Anesthetizing, monitoring and recovering surgical patients
  • Patient care including treatments
  • Triage and obtaining patient history
  • Venipuncture
  • Placing intravenous catheters
  • Digital radiology (both dental & general)
  • Assisting with and completing diagnostic procedures
  • Prepare prescriptions and communicate discharge orders to clients
  • Client education & services
  • Appointment leading & management
  • Technician Appointments (as a provider for patients with a current VCPR)
  • Occasional emergency triage and management

Experience with low stress handling and providing superb professional and personable client services is desired.

Competitive starting base pay (base DOE) with scheduled increases at 90-days and 1-year. Benefits include vacation/holiday and sick leave, simple IRA with matching after 1 year, Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) after 90-days and paid continuing education after 1 year of employment and professional growth. Pet care discounts are offered from day one - no matter how many pets you have!

All team members will be trained and evaluated using a competency system. Potential for growth and advancement in skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour DOE(negotiable)
