North Deering Veterinary Hospital in Portland, ME is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our privately owned practice. You will lead anesthesia monitoring and provide robust surgical support.
Responsibilities include dental scaling/polishing, radiology, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and assisting doctors in exams and appointments, while maintaining low-stress handling for patients.

Surgery & Anesthesia: Lead anesthesia monitoring and provide robust surgical support.
Clinical Skills: Perform dental scaling/polishing, radiology, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement. Assist doctors in exam rooms and help manage technician appointments as needed
Diagnostics: Run in-house lab work and utilize advanced diagnostic tools.
Patient Care: Practice low-stress patient handling to ensure a calm experience for pets.
Technology: Utilize modern tools including Digitail, our full feature cloud-based management software complete with AI! modern diagnostic/imaging and monitoring equipment
Collaboration: Partner with a supportive staff focused on fun and teamwork.
Starting Pay: $28.00 - $32.00/hr based on experience.
Schedule: Full-time (34–40 hours per week, 4x10 shift, no weekends!).

Credentials: Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with active credentials in good standing
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of veterinary experience, with emphasis in patient anesthesia and surgical monitoring.
Skillset: Good knowledge in anesthesia and patient monitoring. Candidate should adept in safe and low stress handling patient restraint, patient vitals, obtaining accurate patient history, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, knowledge of preventive care, and general laboratory/sample preparation
Location: Ability to commute to Portland, ME 04103 before starting.
