PAWSitive Veterinary of New York, a full-service small animal practice in Brooklyn, seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our caring team. You will assist with anesthesia monitoring, surgeries, lab work, and client communication in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of professional experience and an active VT license. Weekend availability and commitment to compassionate care are essential; attractive benefits accompany a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

PAWSitive Veterinary of New York is a full-service, small animal practice in Brooklyn. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications

We're Looking For:

  • A Licensed Veterinary Technician with an active license required,2+ year professional experience required.
  • Previous professional experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring isheavily preferred; this position will have a high focuson assisting with surgeries.
    • The right candidate will be comfortable with all aspects of surgical procedures.
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
  • Availability to work Saturdays.
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens.
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus.
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards.

Additional Information

Pay Range: $35 - $40/hr. depending on level of experience
