Job summary

Ardsley Veterinary Associates in Ardsley, NY is seeking a licensed veterinary technician. Responsibilities include restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, medications, client communication, surgical prep and anesthesia monitoring.

Open to new grads or VTNE-eligible candidates; strong work ethic and punctuality required. Some Saturday shifts; competitive benefits and ongoing training provided.

Qualifications

  • A licensed veterinary technician with 1+ years of experience preferred.
  • We are open to training a new grad or VTNE eligible candidate.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to arrive on-time and work some Saturdays.
  • Excellent communication with clients and team.
  • Ability to interpret medical records and maintain hospital flow.
  • Proficient in sample collection, radiographs and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Desire to continuously grow knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples and diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
  • Administer medications and discuss treatment plans with clients.
  • Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate with the team.
  • Operate under safety protocols and handle challenging cases.

Ardsley Veterinary Associates is a well-established, progressive fast-paced 6 doctor general animal practice located in Ardsley, NY. We offer many services to provide the best comprehensive care to our patients including preventative care, surgery, urgent care, high speed dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital full body and dental radiology and ultrasonography,


We are located in a vibrant area of Westchester County, and not too far from New York City. Our practice offers board‑certified cardiologist, board‑certified internist, and board‑certified surgeons that are available for consultation and surgery procedures.



  • Mon - Fri: 8:30 am - 6 pm

  • Sat: 8:30 am - 2 pm (open every other Saturday)

  • We are closed on Sundays


Job Description

Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management. Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases. Qualifications


  • A licensed veterinary technician, 1+ years professional experience is preferred but not required.


    • We are currently open to training a new grad or someone who is eligible and waiting to take the VTNE!


  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member

  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work

  • Some Saturday shift availabilty

  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely

  • Interpret medical records and record client history accurately

  • Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow

  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner

  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin

  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests

  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus

  • Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring

  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset

  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency


Hiring eligibility may be contingent to a candidate authorizing and completing a satisfactory background check.


Additional Information

Pay range: $28 - 32/hr. depending on experience and licensure
