Zoetis in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to support animal research in a pharmaceutical setting. The role covers colony management, medical case work, anesthesia support, training of staff, and regulatory paperwork, with travel between Zoetis sites as needed.
Ideal candidates hold an accredited Vet Tech program and a state license (MI eligibility within one year); 2+ years industry or private practice experience preferred.
This position is responsible for providing animal research technician support in a Pharmaceutical research environment at the Zoetis Kalamazoo and Richland site(s). Primary species of responsibility are companion animals (canine/feline) but could include other species (rodent/poultry/bovine/swine/equine).
The Licensed Veterinary Technician will be in Animal Research Support, as a part of the Veterinary Services team. This role will support veterinary services and job duties may include:
Travel between sites may be required as needed for site coverage.
May be required to work with zoonotic animal pathogens and chemicals. There may be handling of zoonotic organisms and working in both ABSL-2 facilities requiring showering in/out procedures.
