Role Description

The Licensed Veterinary Technician at Animalia plays a key role in delivering high-quality medical care and a positive experience for patients and clients. This full-time, on-site position in Franklin, TN involves assisting veterinarians with exams and procedures, monitoring patients, and administering treatments. Daily responsibilities include performing technical tasks such as collecting samples, running laboratory tests, preparing and maintaining equipment, and supporting anesthetic monitoring and surgical preparation. The role also includes providing client education on pet care, medications, and preventive health, maintaining accurate medical records, and helping ensure a safe, calm, and clean environment for animals and team members.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Animal Care and Pet Care, with the ability to provide compassionate, safe, and attentive handling of patients.
  • Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, including diagnostics, sample collection, treatment administration, and medical record documentation.
  • Experience with Anesthesiology support, such as patient preparation, monitoring, and post-anesthetic care under veterinary supervision.
  • Ability in Client Education, including clear communication of treatment plans, home care instructions, and preventive health guidance.
  • Active state license as a Veterinary Technician (or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee).
  • Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or similar medical setting preferred.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills, with a commitment to compassionate, inclusive, and respectful care.
  • Comfort with occasionally handling stressed or anxious animals and following Fear Free protocols.
