Job summary

Elko Veterinary Clinic in Elko, NV is seeking Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our busy mixed animal practice. We offer full-time or part-time shifts with four 10-hour days, and after-hours on-call rotation.

New LVT graduates are encouraged to apply. Compensation ranges from $27.00 to $35.00 per hour, with benefits including CE allowance, license reimbursement, scrub allowance, and relocation assistance for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in NV or eligible to transfer license within 3 months.
• 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• Degree from AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care in a hospital setting.
• Monitor anesthesia during procedures and assist surgery.
• Assist with radiology, laboratory work, and IV catheter placements.

• Salary: $27.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location.
• Schedule: Full-time, Four 10-hour shifts per week. Primarily weekdays with rotating weekend support. Part-time, flexible scheduling, including weekend coverage.
• On-Call: After hours, rotating, on-call scheduling required.

Who You Are

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
• 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred
• Degree from an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
• Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
• Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
• Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
• Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
• Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre‑operative and post‑operative care
• Laboratory skills including cytology set‑up and interpretation
• Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound‑guided cystocentesis
• And all other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
