Job summary

Chaska Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our team, supporting outpatient care and procedural services including surgery and dentistry. We value credentialed technicians for clinical knowledge, judgment, and client communication in a general practice setting.

You will contribute to both outpatient and procedural workflows, maintaining a high standard of care throughout patient visits and client interactions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience.
• Active and good-standing Minnesota Licensed Veterinary Technician.
• Proficiency in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, radiography, and anesthesia support.
• Ability to review treatment plans and communicate clearly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.
• Assisting in surgery and dental procedures including prophylaxis and radiography.
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Reviewing medications and discharge instructions with clients.
• Building strong client relationships through education and attentive service.

Job description

Chaska Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician LVT to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
• Assisting in surgery
• Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
• Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety in their day, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $25-$29per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday .

Full-time Benefits Package*:

• Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Minnesota
• CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standing Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of Minnesota **
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Medication administration and accurate drug calculations
  • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
  • Accurate medical record documentation
  • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint techniques
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
