Job summary

Aiken Animal Hospital in Aiken, SC is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our full-time team. You’ll provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, perform venipuncture and in-house diagnostics, and assist with anesthesia and dentistry in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential or eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
  • Client-focused with excellent communication skills.

  • Experience with anesthesia, dentistry, and laboratory procedures is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to hospitalized patients.

Compensation

$ 21 - $25/per hour, based on experience

About Our Practice
  • 4 full-time veterinarians (2 part-time)
  • 7 exam rooms
    • 2 exam rooms with lift tables
    • 1 lift table in the treatment area
    • Back-friendly equipment
  • Open floor plan
  • Digital radiography and dental radiography
  • IDEXX in-house laboratory
  • Cornerstone practice management software
  • Limited boarding (up to 20 dogs and cats)
  • Outdoor runs (leash walks required for boarding pets)
Schedule
  • 4-day work week
  • Clinic Hours:
    • Monday–Friday: 7:45 AM – 6:00 PM
    • Saturday & Sunday: Closed
  • Weekend duty for hospitalized and boarding pets every 6–8 weeks
    • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00–10:00 AM and 4:00–6:00 PM
  • Flexible holiday rotation required
  • Responsibilities

What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • Graduate of an AVMA‑accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • A current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
  • Proficiency in a range of technical skills, including nursing, surgery, dental care, radiology, and laboratory procedures.
  • A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast‑paced or stressful situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
  • One year of experience in the veterinary industry is preferred.
