Job summary

Central Veterinary Hospital in Knoxville, TN seeks a dedicated Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT) to deliver high-quality patient care and support veterinarians within a close-knit, locally owned team.

You will perform nursing duties, anesthesia monitoring, dental work, imaging, and client education while contributing to a positive hospital culture and ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current Tennessee LVMT license in good standing.
• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.
• Strong technical, anesthesia monitoring, and patient care skills.
• Previous clinical experience in a veterinary hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, patient assessments, and treatment administration.
• Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, lab sample collection, and diagnostic testing.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical and dental procedures.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and radiography per state regulations.
• Obtain diagnostic imaging including radiographs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate status updates to veterinarians.
• Educate clients on preventive care, medications, and post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
• Assist with emergency and urgent care cases as needed.
• Ensure proper care, maintenance and sterilization of medical equipment.
• Mentor Veterinary Assistants and support development of less experienced team members.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture.

Responsibilities
