Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician required for state employment.
• Strong communication with clients and teammates is essential.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds.
• Familiarity with basic lab tests and radiography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine, surgery and related tasks.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams; educate clients.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vitals during procedures.
• Collect samples and perform in-hospital lab tests; prep specimens for outside labs.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restraint during exams.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment and lab areas; maintain equipment.
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate with veterinarians and team about patient plans and concerns.
• Other duties as assigned.
