Heartland Veterinary Partners LLC in Leitchfield, KY is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our mixed animal hospital. You will support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics, with emphasis on client education and compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Must hold state license as a veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts.
• Follow OSHA safety protocols and use proper PPE.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office) for documentation.
• Proficient in calculating medication dosages.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients and team.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in medicine and surgery as needed.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights; provide client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Collect blood, stool and other samples; run in-hospital labs and prepare specimens for external labs.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs with proper safety.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Clean and restock exam rooms and equipment; keep client areas orderly.
• Demonstrate warmth and professionalism with clients and patients.
• Communicate clearly with veterinarians and staff; document plans and concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
