Job summary

Otterkill Animal Hospital, located in the Hudson Valley, seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our small animal practice. In this full-time role, you’ll support veterinarians in wellness visits, procedures, and surgeries while performing in-house testing and radiography.

The ideal candidate has a NY State license, strong anesthesia and venipuncture skills, and the ability to work in a busy, collaborative team. Cornerstone, Vetcove, and PetDesk experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must hold a New York State license in veterinary technology.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and venipuncture skills.
• Excellent communication with veterinarians, coworkers, and clients.
• Ability to work as part of a team with a shared goal.
• Comfort with busy environments and multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during wellness visits, sick appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
• Perform in-house lab testing and collect samples.
• Take diagnostic radiographs (dental and standard).
• Administer medications, injections, and treatments.
• Prepare surgical patients and assist with recovery and monitoring.
• Maintain accurate patient records and provide client care instructions.
• Safely restrain patients and keep areas clean and organized.
