Otterkill Animal Hospital is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA-accredited small animal practice in Campbell Hall, NY. You will work closely with veterinarians and a collaborative support staff across wellness visits, surgeries, and in-house labs.

The ideal candidate holds a current New York State license in veterinary technology, has strong anesthesia monitoring and venipuncture skills, and is proficient with Cornerstone, Vetcove, Petdesk, and wellness plans.

Qualifications

• New York State license for veterinary technicians is required.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting preferred.
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and venipuncture skills.
• Ability to run technician appointments for vaccines and routine procedures.
• Willingness to participate in rotating Saturday schedule and early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Support doctors during wellness visits, sick appointments, procedures, and surgeries.
• Collect samples and perform in-house laboratory testing.
• Take high quality diagnostic radiographs (dental and standard).
• Administer medications, injections, and prescribed treatments.
• Prepare surgical patients and assist with recovery and monitoring.
• Maintain thorough patient records and communicate changes to the team.
• Provide clients with instructions regarding medications and care.
• Safely restrain patients and keep areas clean and organized.
