Job summary

HDR is seeking a licensed Traffic Engineer for our Pensacola or Tallahassee office. The role supports traffic forecasting, analysis, and planning for transportation projects using tools such as HCS, VISSIM, SYNCHRO, and SIMTRAFFIC.

Key duties include assessing operations, safety studies, complete streets, and multi-modal analyses with report preparation. Required are a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and at least 4 years of experience in traffic design and analysis, plus CAD

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and PE license required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of traffic engineering experience.
  • Proficient in CAD platforms (MicroStation, AutoCAD) and traffic modeling tools (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, Aimsun).
  • Strong communication and ability to work in a team in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare traffic safety studies and intersection analyses using HCS, VISSIM, Synchro, and other models.
  • Analyze and optimize traffic signal timings along major corridors.
  • Work with large data sets and perform field visits; write reports.
