Job summary

Glenwood is seeking a Licensed Therapist to provide outpatient clinical services in our Birmingham, AL office. This role focuses on children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental or emotional and behavioral concerns.

Responsibilities include individual, group, or family therapy using evidence-based treatments, treatment planning, coordination with community agencies, and maintaining clinical records. Eligibility requires a Master’s degree and Alabama licensure (LPC/LMFT/LiCSW).

Job Location: Behavioral Therapy Center - Birmingham, AL 35222

Position Type: Full Time

The Behavioral Therapy Center is for children and adolescents ages 18 months up to 19 years of age with neurodevelopment disorders or other emotional and behavioral concerns (e.g., impulsivity, aggression, excessive sadness, or anxiety).

Glenwood is looking for a Licensed Therapist to provide outpatient clinical services in our Birmingham office.

Additional benefits, including funds for CEU and licensure renewal each year, are also available, as well as opportunities for training in evidence-based treatment modalities.

Primary responsibilities include providing individual, group, or family therapy using empirically supported treatments, assessment, development and review of treatment plans, coordination with community agencies, and administrative oversight of clinical records. Assistance with scheduling and checking insurance is provided by office staff.

The BTC is a supportive, close-knit, collaborative team with a focus on positive outcomes for families and maintaining a positive work environment for our staff members.

Essential Functions

• Establish relationships with clients
• Promote and support clients’ mental health
• Maintain detailed and accurate records for each session with client
• Create treatment plans for each individual in their care
• Conduct assessments of each client’s progress
• Work with clients’ families to help them offer the most appropriate support.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the latest therapeutic techniques
• Make referrals to other agencies or health professionals.

Additional Requirements

• Must clear all background checks and pre-hire testing.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in mental health, education, behavioral health, or a related field working with children ages 5-19
• Knowledge of Autism, Emotional Disturbance, and other Developmental Disabilities
