Responsibilities

• Apply psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to individuals and families to treat emotional and mental disorders.
• Conduct individual, group or family therapy as part of the treatment plan.
• Perform psychosocial assessments and develop initial discharge plans.
• Provide initial treatment planning and coordinate services, revising as necessary.
• Maintain therapy documentation per facility and professional standards.
• Maintain an assigned caseload.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with staff to support the treatment plan.
• May provide services in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Provide case management, discharge or after-care planning as per treatment plan.
• Assist in educating and training staff on behavior management or crisis intervention.
• Coordinate clinical, psychosocial, or educational activities with patients and families.
• Evaluate needs and refer to appropriate programs or facilities as needed.
• Assist in training new clinical staff and interns.
• Demonstrate empathy and professionalism; ensure patient safety and resolve complaints.
