Job summary

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted California licensure as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Licensed Psychologist, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-licensure clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, marital, family, and group psychotherapy services.
  • Conducts comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and mental status examinations.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, and updates individualized treatment plans.
  • Applies evidence-based therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities.
  • Collaborates with clients to establish treatment goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Provides crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning when indicated.
  • Evaluates treatment effectiveness and modifies interventions as needed.
  • Facilitates psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.
  • Coordinates care with physicians, psychiatrists, schools, social service agencies, and other providers.

About this position

Simple Solutions Psychotherapy - Founded June of 2020. We are a community-based organization providing therapy (individual, family, couples, & groups), after-school programs, mental health assemblies, organizational workshops, juvenile detention centers, case management and more! We service California residents via insurance or cash pay. Services are provided via telehealth and in-person in English and Spanish Language and based on specifics of contracts.

At Simple Solutions Psychotherapy we believe "It's SIMPLE people just make it complicated." We seek to assist PsyD practicum students in gaining knowledge and experience toward assisting the community with mental health services.

Job Summary

Diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral, within the context of individual, family, and relational systems. Apply psychotherapeutic theories and evidence-based treatment modalities in the delivery of services to individuals, couples, families, and groups for the purpose of treating diagnosed mental health disorders. The Licensed Therapist independently manages a caseload, develops treatment plans, conducts assessments, provides clinical recommendations, and serves as a clinical resource to the organization. Working conditions are normal office environments with use of computers, laptops, telephones, copiers, and printers. May sit for up to 8 hours per day.

  • Gain a thorough understanding of the scope of practice for licensed behavioral health clinicians.
  • Aim to maximize the development of client potential and the fulfillment of client needs through a commitment to the organization's Group Practice, Treatment Focus, and Patient Promise.
  • Be an active contributor to clinical quality initiatives, program development, and workflow improvement efforts.
  • Support the organization's commitment to ethical practice, clinical excellence, and positive client outcomes.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provides individual, marital, family, and group psychotherapy services.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and mental status examinations.
  • Develop, implements, monitors, and updates individualized treatment plans.
  • Apply appropriate evidence-based therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish treatment goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning when clinically indicated.
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness and modifies interventions as needed.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatrists, schools, social service agencies, and other treatment providers as appropriate.
  • Provide clinical recommendations and referrals for additional services, resources, and levels of care when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Complete documentation within organizational standards and established timelines.
  • Assist with clinical program development and implementation efforts.
  • May assist with onboarding, mentoring, and training activities in a non-supervisory capacity.
  • Participate in case consultation, peer review, staff meetings, and continuing education activities.
  • Maintain compliance with ethical codes, professional standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or related behavioral health field required.
  • Current and unrestricted California licensure as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Licensed Psychologist, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-licensure clinical experience preferred.
  • Experience providing psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and/or families preferred.
  • Experience with personality disorders preferred.
  • Experience facilitating group therapy sessions preferred.
  • Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
