Responsibilities

Job Purpose

The Therapist at THREE RIVERS YOUTH will provide professional therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families. The role involves assessing clients\' needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions to support mental health and emotional well-being. The Therapist will work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients, promoting positive outcomes and personal growth.

Primary Functions
  • Conduct individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based practices.
  • Assess clients\' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Monitor and document clients\' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and community resources to coordinate care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all therapeutic practices.
  • Educate clients and families about mental health issues and coping strategies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices.
  • Contribute to program development and evaluation to enhance service delivery.
  • Responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the treatment process for individual clients on the unit(s) they are assigned. Administers and interprets various assessments with clients as necessary. Responsible for the development of the ISP or FSP as needed.
Other Responsibilities
  • Maintains contact with referral agencies and other service providers.
  • Serves as case manager to assigned clients. Maintains family records according to program standards and expectations. Ensure client records are complete with respect to regulatory requirements, and that all documentation is present and clear.
  • On an as-needed basis, it may be required to attend court hearings.
  • Conducts follow-up with discharged clients at 30, 60, and 90-day intervals.
  • Provides consultation to the coordinator, team, and individual staff of the assigned unit(s) on treatment needs and strategies for clients and families, and on the development and monitoring of a therapeutic environment.
  • Schedules and facilitates meetings with clients, parents, and other service providers.
  • Attends and participates in weekly supervision meetings with the supervisor.
Qualifications
Required Education

Master’s degree in psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a therapeutic setting, preferably working with youth and families.
  • Experience in conducting individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Proficient in crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and documentation efficiently.
  • Empathy and compassion in dealing with sensitive issues and diverse populations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
