Position Summary

The Clinical Therapist will provide effective therapy to children, adolescents, families, and/or individual adults in office, home, community, and school settings. The therapist will work closely with the Program Supervisor and the Psychiatry Department, and assists with general quality assurance responsibilities for program treatment services.

Responsibilities

Clinical and Support

• Provide individual and family therapy in a culturally sensitive manner with adherence to the professional Code of Ethics, as recommended by the treatment team.
• Determine number of sessions based on need and program procedures; practice empirically supported intervention or treatment styles with thorough training and supervision.
• Facilitate or assist in facilitating groups as per program needs.

Quality Improvement

• Work with supervisors and directors to meet quality assurance standards for all components of treatment.
• Ensure the implementation of best practice standards as developed by the service lines.

Communication

• Complete written work that is legible, accurate, and uses professional language; meet timelines for submitting paperwork; use documentation to communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, supervisors, and collateral contacts.

Supervision

• Receive supervision and actively communicate with supervisors on an ongoing basis by phone, email, written message, and when possible, in person, regarding program matters.

Community Engagement

• With approval, provide in‑service training to other programs on site and/or provide information regarding the organization and its services to community organizations for marketing and fundraising.
• Provide presentations at local, state, or national conferences and workshops; provide the supervisor with the workshop or training outline for review.

Risk Management and Safety

• Provide documentation that complies with program procedures, state, licensing, and Medicaid regulations, including treatment plans, case notes, assessments, and summaries; sign off on documents in accordance with program procedures and licensing regulations.
• Ensure clinical/financial paperwork is timely and accurate to secure treatment services for the client.

Professional Development

• Participate in regularly scheduled in‑service training as requested.
• Attend relevant local, state, or national workshops and training with Program Supervisor approval.
• If applicable, obtain CEUs and/or Clinical Supervision from the clinical supervisor as required to maintain license in good standing or to pursue licensure.

Qualifications

• Education/Credentials/Licensure: Master’s degree in Human Services or a related field, and one (1) year of experience; Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field, and two (2) years of experience.
• Licensure preferred or working toward licensure by professional affiliation in the state of program location.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

• Experience: Expertise in the developmental and emotional needs of children, adults, and families; knowledge of community resources and referral procedures.

• Clearances: State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse Clearances; CPSL Mandated Reporter – Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation.
