Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with clinical leadership, physicians, and other clinicians as needed.
  • Develop evidence-based and professionally respected treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment interventions and monitor progress.
  • Provide continuity of care and triage patient calls/ emails within 24-48 hours.

Basic Function

Reporting to the Clinical leadership, the Clinician/Therapist is responsible for counseling individuals, groups, or families to diagnose and treat mental health disorders. The individual in this role will spend 80% of their time interacting with clients/patients and 20% of their time collaborating with others in the organization and administrative tasks. As part of an integrated care team, the Clinician/Therapist contributes to a collaborative model that connects mental health, psychiatry, and primary care to deliver comprehensive, coordinated support for clients.

ZoeRVA Health is growing our clinical team and hiring multiple therapists across a range of specialties and populations. Candidates are not required to have experience in all areas listed below - we welcome applicants who bring expertise in one or more of the following:

  • EMDR
  • IFS
  • Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential
  • Child therapy, ages 5-11
  • Adolescent/youth therapy, ages 12+
  • Adults 18-64
  • Older adults (65+)
  • LMFT with a specialization in couples therapy
  • Gottman Method certification
  • Somatic psychotherapy
Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis

  • Assess patient status by obtaining health and mental health history through patient/family interviews and chart reviews; assess presenting illness, risk factors, family history, psychosocial situation, and cultural factors; perform appropriate physical examinations
  • Seek additional information as needed, including consultation with clinical leadership, physicians, and other clinicians
  • Integrate assessment data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan
  • Identify health risks and clinical priorities
  • Develop evidence-based and professionally respected treatment plans

Treatment Implementation and Patient Education

  • Implement treatment interventions and monitor progress
  • Instruct patient/family regarding medication and treatments
  • Provide education on health promotion ad illness prevention
  • Recommend appropriate community resources to support patient/family needs
  • Communicate case management information to other professionals and community agencies
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to manage acute and long-term medical needs, supporting the integrated model of care and ensuring seamless coordination across services
  • Provide continuity of care between visits, including triaging patient calls/emails within 24-48 hours

Documentation and Compliance

  • Prepare and update medical records within 72 hours, including assessments, test results, diagnoses, medications, and treatments
  • Participate in peer reviews, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guideline development, and quality assurance activities
  • Demonstrate compliance with standards, regulations, policies, and procedures

Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to align with the cultural context of clients. Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff, and the public.
Education/Experience
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or a related field
