Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Licensed Social Worker for PRN/Per-diem coverage. This part‑time evening, weekend, and holiday role supports the Behavioral Health and Emergency Department teams with assessments, crisis intervention, and placement decisions.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work and LP/LCSW/LPC licensure. Compensation ranges from $28.18 to $43.67 per hour with benefits from day one and tuition reimbursement.

Licensed Social Worker

This position is a PRN/Per-diem to cover for varied shifts on evenings, weekends, and holidays

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. Loyola University Medical Center is part of a three-hospital system including Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital.

What You Will Do

Provide psychiatric and substance use assessments, crisis intervention and consultation to the Emergency Department and nursing units. Responds in person and via telephone to those in behavioral health crises. Provides psychosocial support to patients and families who are in acute distress. Determines appropriate level of care through the assessment process. Facilitates admissions to psychiatric treatment or provides appropriate outpatient referrals when indicated. Completes eligibility/benefit verifications and insurance pre-authorizations. Consults with on-call psychiatrist on all patients. Coordinates incoming transfers to Behavioral Health units from other facilities. Completes legal paperwork prior to admission. Collaborates with nursing staff regarding patients' medical needs and placement on appropriate inpatient psychiatric units.

Provision and promotion of the delivery of patient care in accordance with Behavioral Health Department standards of quality care consistent with accepted standards of practice. Timely completion of documentation consistent with established policy and procedures within patient medical record.

Compensation

Salary Range: $28.18 - $43.67per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
