Harvard Protection Services is hiring a Security Guard to provide professional, customer-focused security and life safety services at our client sites in Queens, NY. Officers protect people and property through visible presence, rapid response, and reliable Customer Service.

Responsibilities include coordinating with staff, monitoring access points, and reporting incidents while upholding site policies and safety procedures. This role emphasizes professionalism and a proactive security posture.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one.
• Reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat appearance.
• Experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor and assist customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious or unsafe activity.
• Familiarize with incoming/outgoing traffic and occupants.
• Greet people professionally and answer phones appropriately.
• Permit entry to authorized persons and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Perform patrols on foot or in vehicle as required.
• Observe departure of personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency procedures and monitor alarms.
• Prepare incident reports as directed.
