Job summary

Dallas Independent School District is seeking a Licensed Specialist School Psychologist (205 Days) to support student referrals and comprehensive evaluations within a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves obtaining consent for psycho-educational assessments, conducting evaluations and functional behavior assessments, writing reports to guide instruction, and participating in ARD committee meetings. Travel district-wide and bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in psychology or related field.
• Licensed School Psychologist or eligible for internship/LSSP trainee.
• Knowledge of psychoeducational evaluation instruments.
• Proficient with district software and the Special Education Data Management System.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Willingness to travel district-wide.
• Spanish and/or sign language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide referral information to students, families, programs and professionals regarding the needs of referred students.
• Obtain consent for psycho‑educational evaluations.
• Utilize various assessment instruments and techniques as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist in identifying students eligible for Special Education Services and in determining appropriate intervention strategies and techniques.
• Organize assignments to meet due dates and mandated timelines.
• Write full and individual evaluation reports to address the needs of the student and guide instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments to assist in the development of behavior intervention plans.
• Conduct counseling as a related service evaluations.
• Provide counseling as a related service to students on assigned caseload.
• Participate in manifestation determination ARD committee meetings.
• Comply with all state and federal rules, laws, policies and guidelines related to special education of students with disabilities.
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
