Mercedes ISD is seeking a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology to perform professional psychological work in assessment, behavior management, and counseling for students with emotional, learning, and behavioral needs. Responsibilities include ARD participation and development of IEPs.

The role requires a master's in psychology, Texas licensure, and strong consultation and organizational skills within a Special Education Department. 207-day assignment with travel within the district.

Qualificações

• Master's Degree in psychology from accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

Responsabilidades

• Assess the intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning of students referred to special education services.
• Develop psychologist evaluation reports and behavior management plans.
• Participate in ARD Committee to assist with appropriate placement and IEP development.
• May serve as case manager for students on assigned campuses.
• Counsel students individually or in groups and provide family counseling.
• Consult with teachers and staff regarding behavior intervention plans and student needs.
• Provide staff development on identification and understanding of emotional/behavioral disturbances.
• Meet with parents to discuss test results and background information.
• Coordinate and maintain case records and necessary documentation.
• Perform duties in compliance with district policies and regulations.
