Job summary

Mentor Technical Group in Carolina, PR is seeking an HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, cooling, ventilation, and related systems on 12-hour rotating shifts. The role requires EPA and Puerto Rico refrigeration licenses and strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, calibrate thermostats, read schematics, and work safely in a GMP-adjacent environment.

Qualifications

• Active Puerto Rico licensed refrigeration technician.
• EPA licensed.
• Strong understanding of HVAC theory, refrigeration and heating.
• Reading schematics and work plans.
• Ability to work after hours and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and general maintenance tasks on HVAC systems.
• Read and interpret safety procedures and instructions for HVAC processes.
• Install and maintain heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
• Lay out wires and pipes to complete HVAC systems.
• Ensure installations meet set standards and secure loose wires.
• Calibrate thermostats and other controls.
• Perform checks on motors, belts and lubrication duties.
• Service steam and hot water boilers.
• Record faults and time/materials on work orders.
• Adjust system controls to manufacturer-recommended settings.
