Job summary

Aurora San Diego is seeking a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) to provide direct patient care to adults with psychiatric or emotional disorders under supervision. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the organization’s philosophy of care.

Available full-time shifts include AM, PM, and NOC; please indicate your preferred shift. Requires CA LVN license, BLS certification, and graduation from an approved VN program. Acute psychiatric nursing experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved vocational nursing school.
• Must have a current and active California State Board LVN License or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification for Healthcare Providers - American Heart Association.
• 2 years acute psychiatric nursing experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer patient medications.
• Assist dietary staff in identifying patients with special dietary needs and ensuring dietary orders are followed.
• Complete nursing assignments under the supervision of an RN.
• Update treatment care plans under the supervision of an RN.
• Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning input.
• Maintain patient, and unit-related documentation.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment for patients.
