Job summary

Keys of Life LLC in Virginia seeks a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor or LPC-R to join our clinical team, providing group and individual therapy within ASAM 2.1 and 2.5 programs. The LPC will conduct assessments, treatment planning, documentation, and coordinate care with providers, probation officers, and community resources, while upholding HIPAA and Virginia DBHDS standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling from an accredited program.
  • Currently registered or eligible to register as an LPC/LPC Resident in Virginia.
  • Active pursuit of LPC licensure.
  • Experience in behavioral health and substance use treatment is preferred.
  • ASAM criteria familiarity is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for ASAM 2.1 and ASAM 2.5 clients.
  • Provide individual counseling sessions based on client needs and treatment goals.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments and clinical screenings.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Complete progress notes and maintain clinical documentation timely.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and clinical case reviews.
  • Monitor client progress and make recommendations regarding continued treatment, transition, discharge, or referrals.
  • Complete discharge summaries and aftercare recommendations.
  • Coordinate care with outside providers, community resources, probation/parole officers, medical providers, and other authorized parties when appropriate.
  • Identify changes in client behavior, mental health status, substance use, or level-of-care needs and communicate concerns promptly to clinical leadership.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
  • Follow Virginia DBHDS requirements, Medicaid requirements, ASAM standards, and Keys of Life policies and procedures.
  • Participate in clinical supervision as required for LPC licensure.
  • Maintain accurate records of supervision and residency hours in accordance with Virginia Board of Counseling requirements.
  • Perform additional clinical duties appropriate to the position as assigned.

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Licensed Professional Counselor or LPC-R to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in substance use treatment, mental health services, group counseling, and working within structured outpatient treatment programs.

Position Summary

The LPC (LPC-R) will provide clinical services to individuals participating in our ASAM 2.1 and/or ASAM 2.5 programs. This position includes facilitating therapeutic groups, conducting individual counseling sessions, assisting with treatment planning, completing clinical documentation, and collaborating with the treatment team to ensure clients receive appropriate and effective care.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups for ASAM 2.1 and ASAM 2.5 clients.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a related counseling discipline from an appropriately accredited program.
  • Currently registered or eligible to register as a LPC or Resident in Counseling/LPC Resident in Virginia.
  • Must be actively working toward Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders preferred.
  • Experience working in an IOP, PHP, community-based behavioral health, substance use treatment, or similar clinical setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASAM criteria is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate engaging and clinically appropriate group sessions.
  • Strong clinical documentation, organization, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, good judgment, and appropriate clinical boundaries.
