Job summary

Keys of Life in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced LCSW to join our behavioral health and substance use treatment team. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual, group, and family counseling in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted LCSW license in Virginia.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • Experience with substance use and mental health disorders preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Intensive Outpatient or Partial Hospitalization programs preferred.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and psychosocial evaluations.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family counseling as appropriate.
  • Facilitate evidence-based substance use and mental health treatment groups.
  • Provide clinical oversight and support to assigned clinical staff when applicable.
  • Complete progress notes, assessments, discharge summaries, treatment plans, and other required clinical documentation accurately and on time.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations.
  • Coordinate care with community providers, medical professionals, probation/parole officers, social services, and other referral sources as appropriate.
  • Assess clients for safety concerns, crisis needs, and appropriate levels of care.
  • Support compliance with DBHDS, Medicaid, payer, and organizational documentation requirements.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with Virginia licensing requirements and Keys of Life policies.
  • Assist clinical leadership with quality assurance, utilization review, and preparation for audits or regulatory reviews.
  • Perform other clinical duties necessary to support the successful operation of the program.

Keys of Life is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our behavioral health and substance use treatment team.

Keys of Life provides structured behavioral health and substance use services, including ASAM 2.1 Intensive Outpatient Services and ASAM 2.5 Partial Hospitalization/Day Treatment services. The LCSW will work collaboratively with clinical leadership, counselors, peer support professionals, and administrative staff to provide high-quality, client-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, or co-occurring conditions preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria and substance use treatment services strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Intensive Outpatient Programs, Partial Hospitalization Programs, or community-based behavioral health services is preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality.
