Job summary

EMC Behavioral Health in San Marcos, TX is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker for a contract 1099 position serving San Antonio and San Marcos. The role focuses on coordinating care, conducting assessments, counseling individuals, groups, or families, and documenting in the electronic health record in compliance with laws and standards.

Qualifications

• Active Texas LPC or LCSW licensure
• Minimum 1 year of LPC/LCSW experience, preferably in a clinical setting
• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and intervention skills
• Proficiency in evidence‑based therapeutic modalities and interventions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Flexibility to provide Telehealth as well as in-person services at our Houston 2‑3 days per calendar week (required)
• Telehealth appointments requires services in all operating cities and their surrounding areas (Houston, San Antonio, San Marcos and Austin)

• Exercising independent professional judgment to observe client progress and communicate material concerns to authorized stakeholders
• Preparing and maintaining service-related documentation in the Company’s designated electronic health record system

• Conducting clinical assessments within licensure scope and supporting treatment planning
• Providing individual, group, or family counseling and other recovery-oriented interventions
• Collaborating in development of treatment strategies aligned with client needs and goals
• Participating in meetings or information exchanges to support regulatory compliance and care coordination

Scope of Work

• Coordinating care with treatment providers, community resources, and support services to promote continuity of care and client progress
• Exercising independent professional judgment to observe client progress and, when clinically appropriate, communicating material concerns, behavioral deviations, or safety-related observations to authorized stakeholders
• Preparing and maintaining service-related documentation in the Company’s designated electronic health record system in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, and professional standards
• Communicating, as clinically appropriate, with family members, caregivers, and licensed medical or behavioral health professionals regarding service-related matters
• Conducting clinical assessments within the scope of Contractor’s licensure and providing professional input to support treatment planning and recovery objectives
• Providing individual, group, or family counseling and other recovery-oriented interventions consistent with Contractor’s professional credentials
• Collaborating, as appropriate, in the development of treatment strategies aligned with client needs and established clinical goals
• Participating in meetings or information exchanges reasonably necessary to support regulatory compliance, care coordination, or service alignment, provided such participation does not establish supervision or control over the manner or means of Contractor’s performance

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field from an accredited program
• Active Texas LPC or LCSW licensure
• Minimum [1] years of experience working as an LPC or LCSW, preferably in a clinical setting
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and intervention skills
• Proficiency in evidence‑based therapeutic modalities and interventions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity
• Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines
• Flexibility to provide Telehealth as well as in-person services at our Houston 2‑3 days per calendar week (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with specific populations, preferred (e.g., children, adolescents, veterans, elderly)
