Job summary

Arista Recovery in Overland Park, KS seeks a Licensed Primary Therapist to guide patients through recovery from substance use and co-occurring disorders. You will provide counseling, education, and empathetic support to individuals in a structured program.

You will develop individualized treatment plans, conduct ongoing therapy, coordinate with nursing and operations, and document progress for monthly reporting. Licensure and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Must currently be licensed in the State in which the site is located as a Psychologist or Licensed Therapist/Counselor/Social Worker or Registered Intern or a similarly clinically therapeutic field
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date
• Bachelor’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency
• Minimum of two years' experience working in a mental health field is preferred
• Previous substance abuse treatment and/or detox facility preferred
• Strong communication skills amongst clients and within all necessary departments
• Able to utilize an electronic medical record

Responsibilities

• Clinical monitoring, coordinating, and implementing the program in accordance with state and TJC Standards
• Develop individualized, person-centered treatment plans with measurable goals expressed in the client’s language
• Conduct follow-up therapy sessions aligned with treatment plan goals
• Complete admissions assessments and re-assessments according to policy
• Complete treatment plan reviews according to company standards
• Act as mental health liaison between nursing and operations staff for assigned caseload
• Provide one-to-one intervention and follow-up for clients with substance use or mental health needs
• Provide input to administration on treatment response and progress reports
• Monitor psychiatric/psychological services for caseload and document responses
• Ensure complete, accurate, timely entries for each client contact
• Perform biopsychosocial assessments and timely follow-ups
• Ensure standards of care meet NCCHC/ACA or accepted psychological standards
• Support Quality Assurance initiatives and participate in related committees
• Develop and conduct in-service education programs
• Prepare monthly performance reports and submit to Supervisor
• Assist with suicide prevention and collaborate with Clinical Director and Utilization Review
• Additional duties as assigned
