Job Description

• Assist in directing nursing services for the unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Delegate duties to nursing personnel and monitor performance under RN supervision.
• Observe patients for symptoms or reactions, including physical and mental conditions, indicating adverse changes.
• Notify physicians of emergencies or patient deaths; implement changes in orders as instructed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an LPN license.
• Valid license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing; proof of renewal required biannually.
• Willingness to serve as charge nurse and work during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
• Ability to provide quality nursing care, follow doctors’ orders, and demonstrate a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
• CPR certification valid yearly.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
