Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking an LPN to participate in a high-volume acute care setting in Baltimore. You will support nursing care, gather patient data, and assist with admissions and procedures under the supervision of registered nurses.
The role emphasizes patient education, accurate documentation, and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff. A Maryland LPN license and CPR are valuable, with safety and compassionate care as core GBMC values.
Knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through an accredited school of nursing.
One-year acute care experience preferred
* Interpersonal skills, communication (verbal and written) are required in order to instruct and comfort patients and their families and maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel and maintain appropriate/adequate documentation.
* Ability to perform and plan professional nursing care resolving complex patient care problems and dealing with patients and their families often during stressful situations.
* Current registration with the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
* Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification) - not required for Hospice employee.
* Ability to stand and walk almost constantly (up to 90% of work time) and occasionally (up to 50% of work time) lifting and positioning patients.
* Normal patient care environment with exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature.
* Possibly exposed to adverse working conditions due to performance of patient care activities and exposure to communicable diseases.
