Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville, WI, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Surgical/Peds Unit on the night shift. This part-time role requires providing prescribed medical treatments and personal care in an inpatient setting, with assignments including nights, weekends, and on-call as needed.

You will observe patients, document care, assist in care planning under the RN, and respond to emergencies within scope.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN Program.
• Wisconsin: Have completed the portion of the RN Program needed to obtain a certificate of completion in practical nursing.
• Illinois: Have completed the designated ladder option Approved Designated RN Program.
• Experience in clinical setting preferred.

## Licensed Practical Nurse, Surgical/Peds Unit - NightsApply: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville, WI: Part time: Posted Today: 2026-02040**OVERVIEW**Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients in an inpatient setting in support of the nursing philosophy. Responsibilities may include day, evening, night, weekend, holiday, and/or on-call shifts. Performs other related duties as assigned.**Schedule**: 24 hours per week**Shift**: Nights**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*** Provides quality patient care by performing treatments and procedures according to established protocols.* Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment* Administers specified medications as allowed by policy and procedure, licensure, and State Practice Act.* Responds in a safe and timely manner to patient requests and reports significant observations to the RN promptly.* Demonstrates knowledge of the patient's plan of care and delivers care safely and within established standards and guidelines. Participates in planning for patient's care by providing input to the RN and under the direction of the RN, assists in implementing the patient care plan.* Demonstrates knowledge of established hospital and nursing policies. Identifies emergency situations, initiates nursing measures as appropriate within scope of practice in emergency situations and seeks assistance and direction as necessary.* Instructs patients in self-care according to the teaching plan and the directions of the RN.
