Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our forensic psychiatric nursing team in Farmington, MO. This role involves administering medications, following doctor orders, and documenting medications and patient progress in medical records.

You will work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays, provide crisis intervention when needed, teach health management, and uphold trauma-informed care in a recovery-oriented setting.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Current licensure as a Practical Nurse.
• Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

Responsibilities

• Routinely prepares and administers medications and treatments in accordance with doctor’s orders.
• Accurately documents medication administration records, narcotic records, progress notes, flow sheets and other required documentation.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to ensure quality psychiatric and medical care.
• Teach living skills, medication therapy, symptom management and health maintenance to patients.
• Administer detailed therapeutic interventions to patients.
• Respond to and participate in crisis interventions to assure safety of patients, staff and the public.

• Work assigned schedule which may include a variety of shifts, weekends and holidays.
