Job summary

Baptist Senior Family in the Pittsburgh area is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver person-centered care to our residents and support the team.

This PRN role offers hourly pay of $30–$32.50 plus shift differentials, opportunities to grow, and a convenient Scott Township location with free parking and easy transit access.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program with an active PA license.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and geriatric needs preferred.
• Strong communication to interact with residents, families and staff.
• Ability to read, write and document reports accurately.
• Team-oriented with flexibility and problem-solving skills.
• Must hold a current Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and standards.
• Assists residents with ADLs, meals, and other care needs.
• Implements and documents restorative/rehabilitative care plans.
• Performs IV therapy and supports admissions/discharges.
• Directs nurse aides and maintains a collaborative team approach.
• Documents information in nurses’ records and care plans.
• Ensures infection control and safety protocols are followed.
• Interprets vital signs and communicates clinical information.
• Interacts with residents, families, and visitors positively.
• Participates in quality improvement and regulatory knowledge updates.

Pay Rate

$30 - $32.50 per hour + shift differentials

What You’ll Do - Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician, and in accordance with current practice standards.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), meal services, and other care needs as required.
• Ensures restorative and rehabilitative care plans are performed and documented accurately.
• Performs IV therapy and assists with admissions and discharges.
• Assigns and directs nurse aides in providing resident care, maintaining a team-oriented approach.
• Documents information in nurses’ records, care plans, and flow sheets as per regulation.
• Ensures infection control practices and safety protocols are consistently followed.
• Demonstrates clinical competence in nursing procedures, including interpreting vital signs and administering medications.
• Communicates effectively with residents, families, and visitors, maintaining positive interpersonal relationships.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and maintains current knowledge of regulatory standards.

Requirements

Qualifications You Bring - Licensed Practical Nurse:

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program; current LPN license required.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations and geriatric resident needs preferred.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to read, write, and document reports and procedures accurately.
• Team-oriented with flexibility and problem-solving skills.
• Must hold a current Class C Pennsylvania Driver’s License.

Work Schedule:

PRN

• PRN: 7:00am - 3:00pm, 11:00pm - 7:00am
