Now part of the Saint Luke’s Health System, Bishop Spencer Place is Kansas City’s premier non-profit Life Care retirement community. Located between Westport and the Plaza, we offer our residents a special place to live and our employees a truly wonderful place to work.

We are seeking a highly qualified and career-minded Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our 57-bed skilled nursing center. This is a PRN position, requiring incumbents to work at least three shifts every six weeks. The role may also involve floating to our Assisted Living unit.

The LPN provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises the daily activities performed by CNAs. Responsibilities include:

• Planning shifts' services, programs, and activities with assigned nursing personnel; overseeing nursing assistants
• Administering professional nursing services and medications, ensuring compliance with care plans
• Assisting with new admissions and discharges
• Consulting with residents, families, and physicians regarding care, treatment, and rehabilitation
• Administering medications
• Visiting residents to observe and evaluate their physical and emotional status
• Notifying physicians and next-of-kin of changes in residents’ conditions
• Reporting issues to the RN Supervisor or Clinical Director
• Demonstrating excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times

Job Requirements

Experience: At least 1 year as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri, verified through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NURSYS).
