Vital Medical Staffing is seeking dependable LPNs for PRN coverage with flexible, open availability across multiple facilities in the Baton Rouge area. You will provide direct patient care within scope, respond to short-notice calls, and collaborate with nursing teams to ensure smooth operations.
The role emphasizes reliability, clinical confidence, and the ability to adapt to varying environments. Background checks and drug screenings are conducted to maintain a safe workplace for everyone.
Pay: $25–$30 per hour, based on facility and shift
Position Type: PRN / As-Needed / LPN
Vital Medical Staffing is looking for reliable, compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) who are available to pick up PRN, last-minute, and short-notice shifts when our facilities need coverage.
This opportunity is ideal for LPNs who have a flexible schedule, are not committed to a fixed full-time schedule, and can be available to step in when coverage is needed. Our facilities may contact us when there is a last-minute call-out or an urgent staffing need, so having open availability and the ability to respond to short-notice opportunities is an important part of this role.
If you’re dependable, clinically confident, adaptable, and someone our staffing team can count on when a facility needs coverage, we’d love to hear from you!
As a PRN LPN, you’ll provide direct patient care within your scope of practice while following each facility's policies and procedures. Responsibilities may include:

Providing compassionate, patient-centered care
Working collaboratively with RNs, CNAs, and facility staff
Following facility protocols and safety procedures
Communicating patient concerns and staffing-related needs promptly
Arriving on time, prepared, and ready to work each scheduled shift
We partner with hospitals, long-term care facilities, behavioral health settings, and clinics, giving you the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare environments.
The most important thing we’re looking for is availability and reliability.
To be considered, you should:
Have an active and valid LPN license
Have flexible, open availability to pick up PRN shifts
Be willing and able to accept last-minute or short-notice shifts when available
Have a current, valid TB test

Flexible work. Different facilities. Opportunities to pick up shifts when you’re available.
Our PRN LPNs play an important role in helping facilities maintain adequate staffing when unexpected needs arise. Last-minute call-outs happen, and facilities rely on us to provide qualified nurses who are ready to step in.
If you have a flexible schedule and are willing to pick up shifts when coverage is needed, PRN staffing can provide an excellent way to work while maintaining flexibility.
We’re looking for LPNs who we can count on when a facility needs coverage ASAP.
As part of our commitment to providing a safe and secure environment, we conduct background checks and drug screenings on all prospective employees. These screenings are essential to ensuring that our workplace remains a safe, productive, and positive environment for everyone.
