This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. The approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined after review by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office. Applicants pending educational or certification requirements may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.

Grade Determinations :
GS-3: Basic requirements only.
GS-4: Must meet one of the following: six months of qualifying experience as an LPN/LVN; graduation from an approved school plus one year of nursing care experience; or graduation from a 24-month approved nursing program.
GS-5: Completion of at least 1 year of experience at GS-4 or equivalent; ability to provide full-range practical nursing care; ability to educate patients and families; ability to work as part of a team; knowledge of medication administration; emergency response skills; and equipment safety awareness.
GS-6: At least one year of experience at GS-5 level; proficiency in patient care procedures; ability to recognize urgent situations; knowledge of patient behavior; skills in supporting complex diagnostic tests; commitment to ongoing education; and ability to foster respectful patient relationships.
Physical Requirements : Lifting, standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, repetitive motions, stooping; mental and sensory requirements include reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking, writing, reading, and visual acuity.
