Job summary

NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking an LPN to provide nursing care under supervision, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and support treatment plans in a residential or clinical setting.

The role includes patient education, charting, and collaboration with licensed providers to ensure high-quality care and a safe environment. Strong communication and adherence to NYS licensing requirements are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a NY license and current registration to practice as an LPN.
  • OR must hold a limited permit to practice as an LPN in NY.
  • Or have an application on file for a limited permit in NY, with immediate approval after graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of a licensed provider, perform nursing tasks per treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and nursing procedures as prescribed.
  • Record vital signs and monitor health status.
  • Observe and report changes to supervising provider.
  • Assist with examinations and treatments.
  • Maintain patient charts and treatment records.
  • Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
  • Educate patients and families about health and treatments.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment; manage supplies.
  • Supervise unlicensed staff as needed and report observations.
