Job summary

The Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse to join our mission-driven team. You will lead a direct care group, oversee treatments for up to 30 residents, and collaborate with physicians to deliver quality life and compassionate care to Iowa's veterans and spouses.

This role offers evening and night shifts, a weekend rotation, and retention payments up to $4,000. Starting pay is $30.38 per hour, with a recruitment payment of $1,500 for part-time LPNs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa LPN license or be eligible for licensure.
• Criminal background check and dependent adult abuse check required.
• Ability to lead/direct a direct care team in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

As an LPN at IVH, you will serve as the leader of a direct care team:

• Provide and oversee licensed treatments for up to 30 residents.
• Assess and evaluate resident conditions, take appropriate action, and adjust care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes.
• Lead and mentor Resident Aides, CNAs, and Medication Aides.
• Respond to acute changes in residents with professionalism, skill, and compassion.

Flexible Scheduling Options:

• Evening Shift: 8-hour shifts (2 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.)
• Night Shift: 10-hour shifts (8:15 p.m. - 6:15 a.m.)
• 1 weekend out of 3.
• Weekend Package: Applicants are required to work 40 hours every two weekends, specifically on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, earn up to $4,000 in retention payments, with lodging and meals available upon request.
