Job summary

Westminster Services in Florida is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct nursing care to AL residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

You will participate in planning resident care, administer medications as ordered, monitor vitals, and ensure CNAs follow MD orders. CPR certification and 1 year in long-term care preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Must be licensed in Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse and CPR certified.
• Experience: One year in long-term care desirable; Med/Surg, Home Health helpful; experience with handicapped or older adults preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents.
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by CNAs.
• Assist in planning resident care based on MD orders and ensure MD orders are implemented.

• Typical shift is 7AM - 7PM, three days a week to include every other weekend. Shift diff for evening and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY: Provide direct nursing care to the AL residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants in accordance with state and federal standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.

• Assist with the evaluation of residents needs.
• Assist with planning resident care based on MD orders.
• Implement resident care based on MD orders. Evaluate care and communicate with MD for updates of orders (PRN).
• Ensure that residents receive their medicine at the prescribed time by the MD order.
• Monitor blood glucose, temperature and blood pressure.
• Assist residents with Daily Living Activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transfer, ambulation, toileting and other resident needs.
• Ensure that CNAs are following MD Orders.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse. Must be CPR Certified.

Experience and Basic Knowledge: One year of long term care desirable. Med/Surg, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.

Physical and Environmental Requirements: The physical activities of this position involve: Manual Dexterity, Lifting up to 40 lbs., Standing, Stooping, Grasping, Pushing, Kneeling, Reaching

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are: Feeling,Smelling, Hearing, Speaking, Seeing, and Tasting

An individual in this position will be exposed to: Inside environmental conditions, Blood borne pathogens, Physical hazards using equipment, and Respiratory hazards

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
