Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Substance Use Disorder Clinic

A health services agency in New York is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Outpatient team in Richmond Hill. The LPN will provide direct nursing care to clients in accordance with agency policies and current standards.

About the Opportunity
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday & Sundays
  • Patient Population: Young adults (18-35) and Adults (36-64)
Responsibilities
  • Assist with patient care including checking vital signs, obtaining specimens, discussing health concerns, and administering injections and immunizations.
  • Observe, measure, record, and report patient data.
  • Administer methadone under RN supervision.
  • Prepare labels and take-home medication bottles for self-administration.
  • Record and report medication spillage.
  • Participate in ongoing patient assessments.
  • Follow protocols for methadone dispensing per OASAS standards.
  • Maintain medication records and assist with medication counts.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of a recognized LPN program
  • NY State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • BLS certification
  • Experience with SUD and/or SMI clients or similar environment
  • Proficiency in Phlebotomy and EKG
  • Methadone experience
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and EHR
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Flexible schedule availability
Desired Skills
  • 2+ years nursing experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of crisis management techniques
