Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is hiring an LPN to integrate technical skills with nursing theory, supporting patient care and family needs. The role contributes to illness prevention, wellness maintenance, and patient comfort while guiding the care team at the unit level.

The incumbent will deliver age-appropriate care, document care plans, and administer medications according to orders within an interdisciplinary plan.

Qualifications

• Virginia LPN licensure or eligibility.
• Current LPN licensure in Virginia; AHA BLS or equivalent.
• Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing.
• Experience as LPN in acute care preferred.
• Follows physician/licensed independent provider orders and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and accurately document direct, age-specific care to patients.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor for interactions.
• Provide education and begin leadership responsibilities at unit level.

The LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the health care team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.

The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:Licensure, certification or registration varies depending on the incumbent`s employment background and transitional assignment;LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible Licensure,

Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:Current LPN Licensure in Virginia AHA BLS Certification or equivalent

Experience REQUIRED:Varies based on transitional duty assignment.

Experience PREFERRED:Experience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice

Education/training REQUIRED:Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing

Compensation Range

$24.00 - $54.58
