Job summary

Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Rehabilitation on a PRN basis in an inpatient setting. Schedule rotates 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with duties including medication administration, patient assessments, rehab interventions, and family teaching.

Experience in rehabilitation and an active LPN license are required, along with BLS certification and an accredited Associate's degree.

Qualifications

• Current state or compact LPN license required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Prior Rehabilitation experience required; Associate's degree from an accredited LPN program.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications safely according to age and condition.
• Assist the RN with initial assessments and reassessments.
• Identify rehabilitation nursing interventions and update the plan.
• Deliver care to promote patient safety and reduce errors.
• Develop teaching plans for patients and families.

More About Our Team

Jefferson Regional and Kindred Rehabilitation Services Unit is a 40-bed acute Inpatient Rehabilitation where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Our team provides compassionate inpatient rehabilitation care to patients recovering from acute injuries, illnesses, or impairments, including stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, orthopedic injury, cardiovascular or pulmonary conditions, neurological disorders, amputation, and trauma. highest level of independence while supporting one another in delivering exceptional care every day.

How You’ll Contribute

• Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
• Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
• Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
• Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
• Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
• Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
• Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
• Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a current state or compact state LPN license. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Experience: Previous Rehabilitation Experience Required
• Licenses: Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
• Education: Associate's degree required. Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program.
