Looking for a charge nurse per diem.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are responsible for staff assignment and providing overall supervision of resident care in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed by the RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, to ensure the highest quality of resident care at all times.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program with current licensure in the practicing state.
• Leadership ability and willingness to supervise professional and nonprofessional personnel.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical

• Complete all required record-keeping forms/charts upon resident admission, discharge, transfer, etc. File in the resident’s chart or forward to the appropriate department.
• Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents. Assist in arranging transportation and packing as necessary.
• Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suction, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage bags, and specimen collection, following facility policies.

Supervision

• Work with facility consultants and implement recommended changes as directed by the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
• Investigate complaints and grievances, reporting findings to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nurses.
• Give and receive nursing reports during shift changes.
• Monitor residents daily to ensure prescribed treatments are properly administered and assess their physical and emotional status.
• Keep the RN Supervisor informed about residents, staff, and related matters.

Customer Service

• Present a professional image through dress, behavior, and speech.
• Follow company standards for resolving resident concerns.
• Protect all resident rights.
